Sunny Solutions is extremely honored to be designated as an authorized sales agent for Conserval Engineering’s “SOLARWALL® technology in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

“The SolarWall has been rated in the top 2% of energy related inventions” – US Department of Commerce

“This collector exhibits the highest know efficiency for an active solar heating system” – Dr. Chuck Kutscher – USA National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

The SOLARWALL offers the most advanced, yet simple method of supplementing the ventilation heating demands of commercial and industrial buildings with a typical return on investment of 3-5 years with some systems returning out-of-pocket costs in under 2-years.

Heating your building:
The ASHRAE book of fundamentals (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers) indicates that a commercial or industrial building will passively ventilate at a minimum rate of 0.5 air changes per hour.  This can be much higher in older buildings or those which have exhausts for manufacturing processes.  This can result in negative pressure which causes cold drafts around the foundation perimeter, doors and windows.  The question becomes, how do you want to heat the air which is entering the building?   The SolarWall system allows you to pre-heat this air in order to significantly reduce your heating energy costs.

The SolarWall® system:
SolarWall is a renewable energy technology which heats air using the suns energy.  The system looks like normal building siding which is covered in thousands of tiny perforations.  The surface of the collector mounts 6-12” from the main building wall creating an enclosed cavity where air is heated as it is drawn through the perforations.  The system can be connected to an existing Air Handling Unit or with supplied fans and perforated fabric ducting for buildings with stratified air near the ceiling.  SolarWall has been used in over 25-countries and five continents over the past 20-years.  Private and public sector organizations such as Ford, Boeing, 3M, Bombardier, Wal-Mart and the US Army are a few examples of clients who have used this technology to reduce their heating energy costs.

Please visit the SolarWall Web site for a more detailed explanation of the technology and examples of clients who have benefited from its use (case studies).
