The SOLAR RATING CERTIFICATION CORPORATIONS (SRCC) . . .
An independent, non-profit organization which certifies and rates the performance of solar energy equipment. Those manufacturers who wish to have their solar equipment tested and certified submit their solar equipment to the SRCC
http://www.solar-rating.org
The manufacturers participating in the SRCC certification program are published in the “participants” section of the SRCC web site. The results of the tests are published in the “ratings” section of the SRCC web site. For purposes of cash-back grants and federal income tax credits, it is usually necessary to purchase solar collectors and equipment from SRCC certified manufacturers.
In the same way new car shoppers rely on EPA estimated “miles per gallon” projections, prospective solar equipment consumers depend on SRCC ratings. Be aware of the fact that SRCC ratings are determined by testing in controlled laboratory conditions. This is done for comparison purposes only. Actual field performance will depend on location and placement of the solar system as well as installation techniques.
Sunny Solutions, LLC sells and installs solar thermal systems rated and certified by the SRCC.
